Virtual Currency & Purchases Policy

MountainHutNights • Last updated: 5 March 2026

This policy explains optional in-app purchases and any virtual currency or virtual items available in MountainHutNights (the “Service”).

1) Virtual currency & virtual items

  • Virtual currency (for example, “coins”) and virtual items are digital content licensed to you for use only within the Service.
  • They may be used only for in-Service features described at the point of purchase and cannot be used outside the Service.
  • You must not sell, transfer, gift, or trade virtual currency/items except where the Service explicitly provides a feature to do so.

2) No cash value / no redemption

  • Virtual currency and virtual items have no cash value.
  • They are not redeemable, exchangeable, or refundable for money, bank credit, or cryptocurrency, and cannot be redeemed for prizes or anything of value outside the Service, unless required by New Zealand law.

3) Purchases & billing

  • Prices, required taxes (including GST where applicable), and the items included are shown before you confirm a purchase.
  • Third-party platforms (e.g., Apple App Store or Google Play) may process payments and apply their own purchase terms, taxes, and billing rules.
  • You are responsible for any charges incurred through your account and for keeping your payment and device access secure.

4) Changes, availability & limits

  • We may change pricing, availability, denominations, and the features associated with virtual currency/items at any time, including for promotions.
  • We may set limits on purchase amounts, balances, or use to help prevent fraud or misuse.
  • Virtual currency/items may not be available in all regions or on all devices.

5) Refunds, cancellations & chargebacks

  • App-store purchases: refund requests are handled by the relevant store (Apple/Google) under their policies; we cannot override store decisions.
  • Direct purchases from us (if offered): contact us using the details below. We will consider requests in line with New Zealand consumer protection laws (including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986) where applicable.
  • Except where required by law, virtual currency/items are not refundable once delivered, and are not refundable for unused balances.
  • If a chargeback or payment reversal occurs, we may suspend or remove access to purchased items/benefits and/or your account while we investigate and recover costs.
